Senator Carlos I. Uresti has recently been added as a Co-author of SB 382.
SB 382, authored by Senator Van de Putte, et al amends the Texas Education Code and establishes a competitive grant program administered by the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston to promote and implement across the state the Reach Out and Read Literacy Program. Further, this bill establishes criteria for awards and reporting requirements by the Health Sciences Center. Companion to HB 429 by King.
