HB 171, relating to consideration of mitigating factors in determining the disciplinary action to be taken against a student, filed 11/12/2008

HB 171, authored by Representative Olivo, amends the Texas Education Code Section 37.001 (a) (4) to specifically state that mitigating factors will be considered when suspension, expulsion or assignment to alternative school campus is warranted for violations of the student code of conduct.
